The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) is higher today (22 September) as the bourse gained 37.30 points by 10.35am AEST, with the materials sector up 1.98%.
Miners such as Genesis Minerals (ASX:GMD), Bellevue Gold (ASX:BGL), and Regis Resources (ASX:RRL) have made the top five gains on the index this morning, with all up around the 7-to-8% range.
Asian markets expected to open higher similar to the ASX, while the Dow Jones closed with an additional 173 points, rising 0.4%.
Europe however struggled as markets traded a weaker session with both London’s FTSE and Germany’s DAX declining.
Gold is trading at US$3,690 ($5,598) per ounce, while copper is trading at US$4.58 per pound.
WTI Crude oil is selling at US$62.54 per barrel while Brent oil is up again at US$66.83 per barrel.
Iron ore is currently valued at US$105.44 per tonne.
