Middleton positions explorer in Golden State

Golden State Mining (ASX:GSM) has appointed Keith Middleton as Managing Director and CEO, effective immediately, as the company moves into a new phase of corporate and exploration development.

Middleton joined the Golden State board as a non-executive director in October 2025 and brings more than 20 years of experience across the mining and resources sector in Australia, South Africa, and the US.

As Managing Director of American Rare Earths (ASX:ARR), Middleton led the company’s transformation into a recognised explorer and developer of rare earth assets. His tenure included capital raisings, tenement expansion in Arizona and Wyoming, and the delivery of maiden resource estimates.

He also served as a director at Advance Metals (ASX:AVM), Redbank Copper, and Proto Resources, overseeing corporate restructures and recapitalisations.

Through his advisory firm Middleton Corporate, he has advised ASX-listed groups such as West Wits Mining (ASX:WWI), Aguia Resources (ASX:AGR), and Orminex on initial public offerings, corporate structuring, and investor communications.

Chairman Greg Hancock says the company looks forward to Middleton applying his skillset to the opportunities that lie in front of Golden State.

“Keith’s technical and commercial insights will provide a valuable addition to the Board in its determination to ensure that Golden State Mining becomes a highly successful exploration company,” Middleton says.

Golden State Mining is focused on explorating Western Australia’s geological frontiers, targeting primarily lithium and gold.
