Midas Minerals (ASX:MM1) has identified additional ‘high-grade’ copper and silver intercepts from infill drilling at the T-13 deposit within its Otavi Copper Project in Namibia.
Intercepts from assays for two new infill holes at the project include:
- 51.4m @ 2.18% copper equivalent from 269m, including 7m @ 3.24% copper equivalent from 271m, 13m @ 2.89% copper equivalent from 291m, and 5m @ 5.11% copper equivalent from 312m
- 61m @ 1.95% copper equivalent from 282m, including 15m @ 2.42% copper equivalent from 285m, 10m @ 2.51% copper equivalent from 304m, and 7m @ 4.03% copper equivalent from 328m
Final assay results were also received for two previously reported holes. Hole T13DD002 returned 12.1m @ 8.88% copper equivalent from 108.9m, including 9.1m @ 10.49% copper equivalent from 108.9m.
Meanwhile, hole T13DD006 intersected multiple zones, including 17m @ 0.86% copper equivalent from 107m, 15.7m @ 3.38% copper equivalent from 130m, and 7.5m @ 2.97% copper equivalent from 172m.
Managing Director Mark Calderwood says infill drilling of the Main Zone at T-13 continues to return “strong” copper and silver grades.
“These results follow other significant exceptional copper-silver intercepts reported on 4 May and 25 May this year,” Calderwood says.
Based on pre-acquisition drilling, the T-13 deposit has an initial mineral resource estimate (MRE) of 10.5 million tonnes @ 1.60% copper and 21g/t silver, containing 169,000 tonnes of copper and 7.1 million ounces of silver.
Midas currently operates six rigs across the Otavi Project, with two diamond rigs at T-13, one reverse circulation (RC) and two diamond rigs at Deblin, and one RC rig at Spaatzu. A seventh rig is expected to arrive by the end of this month.
The company has commenced resource drilling at the Deblin deposit and is preparing to drill untested targets across Otavi through the second half of 2026.
An updated MRE for T-13 is expected by the end of this year, followed by an initial estimate for Deblin in Q1 of 2027.
Calderwood says with the conclusion of the wet season, the company is also preparing to test other regional prospects with RC drilling, “as the potential of the Otavi project continues to grow”.
