Miata Metals (CSE:MIATA) reports gold intercepts from the first four holes of 2026 drilling at the Jons Trend zone within its Sela Creek Project in Suriname.
The company has expanded the Jons Trend mineralised footprint by 20% to 300m lateral extent, with the system remaining open in all directions.
Key intercepts include 11.3m at 3.58 grams per tonne gold from 180m in hole 26DDH-JT-002, including 0.9m at 30.40g/t gold from 181m.
Additional results include 32m at 1.20g/t gold from 50m; 8.7m at 3.47g/t gold from 126m, including 0.7m at 31.37g/t gold
CEO Jaap Verbaas says the Jons Trend is evolving from a single discovery into a large, structurally controlled gold system.
“With each drillhole, Jons Trend is growing in size from a single discovery zone into a large, structurally controlled gold system of multiple gold zones with both bulk-tonnage potential and discrete high-grade zones of mineralisation,” Verbaas says.
The mineralisation is characterised by extensive silicification and sulphide mineralisation within shear zone intercepts, while ‘high-grade’ intervals are associated with quartz-chlorite-pyrite-pyrrhotite extensional veins.
The Jons Trend is hosted within tightly folded metasedimentary rocks metamorphosed to upper greenschist to lower amphibolite facies, with fold axes following a northeast-to-southwest trend.
With a second drill rig now on site, Miata plans to continue systematic expansion drilling at Jons Trend while testing multiple high-priority targets across the concession, including the Puma, Big Berg and Cambior prospects.
The company holds a 70% interest in the 215km² Sela Creek gold project with an option to acquire 100% ownership.
