Metro Mining (ASX:MMI) has updated its resource estimate for the Bauxite Hills Mine in Far North Queensland to 107.4 million tonnes of dry bauxite.
This update represents a decrease of 7 million tonnes since 31 December 2024, which the company says is solely due to mining activity.
Bauxite Hills has also seen an 8.1-million-tonne decrease in wet bauxite, with a total of 69.6 million tonnes, also due to the depletion in mining.
Mineral resources have not been added to the estimate, with no additional conversions from indicated to measured categories. Similarly, mineral resources have not been converted to ore reserves.
As reported by Mining.com.au, Metro restarted operations at the Bauxite Hills Mine in Cape York in mid-March, after Tropical Cyclone Narelle caused minimal impact to the site.
Metro Mining is a bauxite producer, focused on its 100%-owned Bauxite Hills Mine north of Weipa, near the coast of the Skardon River in Far North Queensland.
