Mercado Minerals Copalito Project in Sinaloa, Mexico

Mercado’s El Pilar returns two best holes yet

Mercado Minerals (CSE:MERC) has reported ‘high-grade’ silver intercepts from its inaugural 3,000m diamond drilling program at the Copalito Project in Sinaloa, Mexico.

Hole COP-26-019 at the El Pilar vein returned 0.8m of 675 grams per tonne silver equivalent (AgEq) within a broader 3.4m interval of 403g/t AgEq from 118m, containing 9g/t silver (Ag), 5.37g/t gold (Au), 1.65% lead (Pb), and 10.05% zinc (Zn).

Step-out drilling at El Pilar delivered the two best mineralised intercepts at the target to date.

COP-26-019 intersected 3.4m of 11g/t Ag, 3.53g/t Au, 1.45% Pb, and 4.41% Zn from 118m. COP-26-018 intersected 4.05m of 9g/t Ag, 1.86g/t Au, 1.19% Pb, and 4.08% Zn from 117.40m, including 0.65m of 635g/t AgEq.

The El Pilar Vein has been defined over a strike length of 1,250m, with ‘higher-grade’ mineralisation measuring approximately 400m in strike length by 200m down dip. The vein remains open in all directions.

At the El Agua Vein, hole COP-26-023 returned 8m of 103g/t Ag, 1.11g/t Au, 0.18% Pb, and 0.86% Zn. The vein has defined a ‘higher-grade’ corridor measuring approximately 500m along strike and 200m down dip within a larger 950m strike length.

“We are pleased and encouraged by the results from our inaugural diamond drill program at Copalito. We successfully expanded on known areas of mineralisation along strike and at depth at El Agua, 5 Señores, and El Pilar,” CEO Daniel Rodriguez says.

The company also completed initial drill tests at Southeast 5 Señores, Chente, Pilar Sur, and El Medio, with all holes confirming structural expressions and vein mineralisation at depth in previously undrilled areas.

Mercado will focus future drilling on expanding higher-grade areas at El Agua and El Pilar.

Mercado Minerals is a silver-focused exploration company advancing projects in Mexico’s Sierra Madre Occidental mining district, including the Copalito and Zamora properties.
