Medaro Mining (CSE:MEDA) has appointed Mark Carruthers as president and chief executive officer, effective immediately.
Outgoing CEO Mark Ireton has stepped down from the role but remains a director.
Carruthers brings nearly 20 years of experience in investor relations, corporate communications, and capital markets, having most recently served as investor relations manager at First Majestic Silver (NYSE:AG) for over six years.
Medaro’s new chief executive says: “I am excited to join Medaro as president and chief executive officer and to work alongside the board and the company’s talented technical team.”
“Medaro has built a diversified portfolio of precious and critical mineral projects across multiple jurisdictions, providing a strong foundation for the company’s next phase.”
In connection with the appointment, the company granted Inside Capital — a consulting firm controlled by Carruthers — 300,000 stock options exercisable at C$0.21 ($0.21) per share over two years, along with 500,000 restricted share rights.
The stock options vest 25% on the grant date and 25% every six months, while the restricted share rights vest in three equal tranches over 24 months.
Medaro notes all securities remain subject to board approval and a statutory four-month-and-one-day hold period under Canadian securities laws.
