McLaren Minerals (ASX:MML) is progressing towards a resource estimate of the McLaren Titanium Project in Western Australia following the return of assays from recent phase one drilling.
The company conducted a 192 drillhole program spanning a 4,067m area which generated 2,161 samples targeting resource and extension zones.
Assays include 4m @ 8.39% heavy minerals from 15m including 1m of 10.57% heavy minerals from 15m, and 5m @ 6.2% heavy minerals from 22m including 1m of 11.11% heavy minerals from 25m.
Intercepts confirm a strike extension for a length of 1.5km and widths up to 4km.
The resource estimate will form part of the project’s upcoming Prefeasibility Study.
Managing Director Simon Finnis says the company is pleased with the consistency of ‘high-grade’ results from the project, specifically to the north of the indicated resource northern boundary.
“This consistency over long traverses and significant depths means our mine planning will be quite simple, and our planned mining method will deliver consistent tonnage at a modest cost,” Finnis says.
“All of the results being reported today are outside the existing indicated resource, so that bodes well for the mineral resource update that has recently commenced.
“We remain confident the data will underpin a robust resource update and help shape the next phase of development.”
McLaren Minerals is an explorer focused on developing its namesake titanium project in the Eucla Basin of Western Australia.
