Maverick Gold and Silver (CSE:MAV) has received a Mines Act permit for its Silver Vista silver-copper property in British Columbia, Canada.
The British Columbia Ministry of Mining and Critical Minerals has granted the company a Mines Act permit and multiyear area-based exploration approval for the property, located approximately 55km northeast of Smithers.
The approval, including permit and cutting authorisation, remains in effect until 31 March 2031.
The permit authorises diamond drilling, geological mapping, geochemical sampling, geophysical surveys, access trail construction, and related exploration activities.
CEO Glen Watson says the permit provides the ‘regulatory framework to systematically advance Silver Vista over the next five years’.
“With permitting now secured through [2031], we can focus on executing our fully funded 2026 program that includes a planned diamond drilling program aimed at expanding known mineralised horizons and testing several high-priority targets,” Watson adds.
The company has also received formal confirmation that mineral claim applied for in January 2026 has been granted. The claim is north of and contiguous with the Silver Vista property and covers 295.4 hectares.
Silver Vista comprises 12 mineral claims covering 5,134.5ha. Six additional claims applied for at the same time remain to be granted.
The property hosts multiple stratiform, sediment-hosted silver-copper horizons and remains significantly underexplored despite encouraging historical drill results. Historical drilling by previous operators intersected broad zones, including 46m grading 48 grams per tonne silver and 0.62% copper.
The company notes that the historical results are from prior operators’ work and have not been independently verified. Maverick is not treating them as current mineral resources or reserves.
