Marvel Gold Limited (ASX: MVL) has announced results from resource expansion drilling at its Tabakorole Gold Project in Mali, with results including a 17m @ 3.6g/t Au strike from surface.
The eight-hole for 1,296m diamond drill program targeted the north-west zone of the project, and also confirmed a new, shallow ‘higher-grade’ lode over at least 120m of strike and open along strike and at depth. Key results from the new lode include:
- Hole 21TBKDD021: 24m @ 2.4g/t Au from 35m
- Hole 21TBKDD020: 21m @ 1.5g/t Au from 26m (up dip of previously-reported intercept of 16m @ 2.0 g/t Au from 75m from hole 20TBKRC014)
Further resource definition drilling from the project’s north-west zone returned results including:
- Hole TBKDD022: 14m @ 1.5g/t Au from 20m and 14m @ 1.0g/t Au from 41m
- Hole 21TBKDD019: 12m @ 1.4g/t Au from 9m
The above results complete Marvels 2021 field season, leading into an updated mineral resource estimate due later this month.
“We are very excited by the final results from our 2021 drill campaign, which has confirmed the brownfields resource growth potential at Tabakorole”
Hunting for further mineralisation at Tabakorole
Recent exploration activity at Tabakorole has included 3,240m of diamond drilling targeting resource expansion in the north-west and central zones of the project.
Drill targets in the north-west zone were formulated from an earlier RC drill program that returned results of 16m @ 2.0g/t Au from 75m and 6m @ 5.8g/t Au from 61m.
The earlier program had indicated the possible presence of a high-grade parallel gold lode, which has subsequently been confirmed through the latest round of drilling.

Management comments
Managing Director, Phil Hoskins, commented: “We are very excited by the final results from our 2021 drill campaign, which has confirmed the brownfields resource growth potential at Tabakorole. Our 2020-21 resource expansion drill program has delivered strike extensions to the north-west and south-east, improved the grade in both the central and north-west zones and defined shallow, high-grade mineralisation outside of the existing resource. We believe that this will result in a meaningful increase to the Mineral Resource which is expected to be reported in September.”
