Maronan Metals intersects visible lead sulphides from first deep test below lead-silver mineralisation at namesake project

Maronan Metals reports its first deep test below the lead-silver mineralisation has intersected visible lead sulphides where the Eastern and Western horizons were predicted further highlighting the integrity of the geological model.

The Maronan Project contains JORC 2012 compliant Inferred Resources of 30.8Mt @ 6.5% lead with 106g/t silver (using a 3% lead cut-off grade) 11Mt @ 1.6% copper with 0.8 g/t gold (using a 1.0% copper cut-off grade). The deposit offers significant untested exploration upside for high-value targets near surface and at depth.

Maronan Metals reports multiple intervals of lead sulphide mineralisation are now visible in carbonate exhalative, and in some cases meta-pelite, from 1232-1243m and 1290-1304m downhole as the Western Horizons and between 1404-1425m as the Eastern Horizons.

Copper sulphide mineralisation is variably developed between 1304 metres and 1404 metres downhole. MRN22005 was terminated at 1543.8 metres and the core is currently being logged and sampled in preparation for assaying. Results are anticipated in about 6 weeks.

The company says this deep hole will now be used as a platform to undertake down-hole electromagnetic surveying to assist off-hole targeting towards high sulphide zones. Down-hole surveying is scheduled to begin shortly.

Addressing the results, Managing Director Richard Carlton says: “Our first deep drill test MRN22005 continues to highlight the remarkable continuity of the lead-silver horizons at Maronan. We look forward to receiving the assays and DHEM results to help plan our next  deep holes.”

Maronan metals limited is an Australian mineral explorer focused on realising the growth potential of the advanced Maronan copper-gold and silver-lead deposit in the Cloncurry region of northwest Queensland – one of Australia’s most productive mineral provinces.
