Mammoth confirms discovery potential with Blue Dick

Mammoth Minerals (ASX:M79) has confirmed ‘significant’ gold, silver, and critical mineral grades, as well as copper potential, through reconnaissance channel and rock sampling at the Excelsior Springs Project in Nevada, US.

Sampling conducted at Blue Dick has provided Mammoth with confidence in the prospect’s discovery potential, with the continuity of high-priority trends extending across the site. Mammoth has defined over 6km of prospective strike, using surface outcrops and historical workings to evaluate the extent of mineralisation.

Key results from prospective ‘high-grade’ trends at Blue Dick include:

  • 0.20m @ 17,582 grams per tonne silver, 0.75g/t gold, 2.76% copper, 1.72% antimony
  • 0.50m @ 3,407g/t silver, 0.54% copper, 0.47% antimony
  • 15,336g/t silver, 7.46g/t gold, 2.53% copper, 0.31% antimony
  • 3,945g/t silver, 14.4g/t gold, 0.73% copper, 0.17% antimony

Mammoth also highlights channel sampling of adits and rock exposures at Blue Dick, demonstrating critical mineral potential, including:

  • 3.02m @ 1.61% copper, 14.3g/t silver
  • 4.57m @ 1.49% copper, 24.5g/t silver
  • 5.84m @ 0.99% copper

Managing Director Glenn Poole says that the results for Blue Dick are exceeding expectations with higher silver grades than previously seen at the project.

“These latest results define high-confidence targets that extend over hundreds of metres of strike with these areas to form key targets for the reverse circulation drilling program planned to commence in Q3 this year,” Poole says.

“Beyond these current results, field programs will continue to focus on the western extents of the parallel trends at Blue Dick, each of which extends for over 3km.

“This provides more than 6km of prospective strike with abundant historical workings, as well as the opportunity to define further mineralisation on structures linking the parallel trends.

“These strong results are increasingly meaningful in an industry where deeper silver deposits are commonly being developed. We’ve only just scratched the surface on the potential at Blue Dick, which is yet to be tested with a drill rig.”

Imperial sampling

Mammoth has also conducted sampling across the Imperial prospect targets, with initial sampling returning ‘significant’ copper results. Additional work is planned to increase the scale and potential of these results and deepen the company’s geological understanding of the area.

Key results include:

  • 1.2m @ 9.35% copper
  • 1.35m @ 4.2% copper
  • 0.8m @ 1.39% copper
  • 0.3m @ 1.72% copper
