Mamba Exploration strikes ‘significant’ mineralisation, launches metallurgical testwork at Hyden REE Project, WA

Mamba Exploration (ASX:M24) is conducting metallurgical testwork on several zones of mineralisation following recent drilling at the Hyden Rare Earth Element (REE) Project in Western Australia.

The company reports the testwork is being conducted to determine the preferred processing path for the regolith REE mineralisation.

Additionally, Mamba is conducting further evaluation of the full geochemical dataset, with the aim to comprehend the source and mineralogy of the total rare earth oxide (TREO) mineralisation within the project.

The company adds that this will support its ongoing exploration efforts.

Commenting on the ongoing activities, Mamba Exploration Managing Director Mike Dunbar says: “While the geochemical evaluation continues, metallurgical leaching testwork has also commenced on a number of the zones of mineralisation from both the clay target zone and also the eastern gravity target area.

These preliminary tests are designed to get an initial understanding of the leachability of the REE mineralisation within the project”

This news comes after the company reported ‘significant’ widths and grades of clay REE mineralisation from the initial drilling at the gravity anomaly at Hyden.

Some of the ‘very wide and shallow’ results include hole 23HYD032 with 32m @ 1,480 parts per million (ppm) TREO from 16m, including 12m @ 1,899 ppm TREO, and hole 23HYD065 with 48m @ 1,086 ppm TREO from 8m, including 24m @ 1,197 ppm TREO.

Shares in Mamba Exploration spiked almost 50% in early trade on Thursday (25 May) but have since tapered their win to trade 14.29% higher at $0.12 at 11:43am AEST.

Mamba Exploration is a Western Australian exploration company with 4 wholly owned diverse projects. The company’s assets are located in the Ashburton/Gascoyne, Kimberley, Darling Range, and Great Southern regions of Western Australia.
