Mako achieves 4m @ 101.31g/t gold grades at Napié Project, Cote d’Ivoire

Mako Gold (ASX: MKG) has reported gold grades of up to 4m @ 101.31g/t following aircore drilling at the Tchaga North and Komboro deposits within its flagship Napié Project in Cote d’Ivoire, West Africa.

These recent results, which are coincident with historic RC drilling conducted by the company, highlight a 2km-long gold mineralised zone 2km north of the Tchaga prospect, with the company seeing district-scale potential.

Previous aircore results at Tchaga North include 8m @ 8.53g/t Au and 1m @ 215g/t with visible gold. Historic Rock Chip sampling grades include 23.70g/t Au, 14g/t Au, 8.09g/t Au and 5.12g/t Au

In addition, a 2,700m RC drilling campaign has commenced at the project’s Komboro prospect following recent results from AC drilling that returned gold grades including 4m @ 1.93g/t Au, 4m @ 1.20g/t Au and 4m @ 1.10g/t Au.

Speaking on the results, Mako Gold Managing Director Peter Ledwidge said: “We are delighted with the results of aircore drilling at the Tchaga North Prospect with assays up to 4m at 101g/t Au. The results received from the aircore drilling in conjunction with our mapping and rock chip sampling has identified a 2km-long high-priority mineralised area which we will RC drill test following the current wet season.

We are very excited by the compelling targets we are drilling, which are generated from geological mapping, rock chip sampling and aircore drilling”

Drilling has commenced at the highly prospective Komboro Prospect within the growing expanse of our Napié Project. We are very excited by the compelling targets we are drilling, which are generated from geological mapping, rock chip sampling and aircore drilling.

Recent geological mapping has identified new and historic artisanal sites which intermittently align over a 9km strike length, largely the focus of our current drilling program at Komboro, underpinning our belief in the district scale potential at Napié.”

The company also notes that these results have aided in the planning of maiden RC drilling at Komboro, which will target a 9km-long stretch that included current and historic artisanal mining works.

In addition, a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate is expected to be delivered for the Tchaga and Gogbala prospects by mid-June 2022, with hopes of underpinning a broader strategy of identifying a potential multi-million-ounce deposit within the broader Project.

The 51% owned Napié Project is located on a +23km soil anomaly along the 30km-long Napie Fault within the north central region of Cote d’Ivoire, covering a total prospective land package of 224km².

The project is currently operated under joint ownership between Mako Gold and Perseus Mining (ASX: PRU), however, a recent binding agreement will see Mako increase its ownership stake to 90%.

With all results from recent aircore drilling now returned, the company reports that it will move forward with RC drilling along the 2km-long high-priority target following the wet season.
