Maiden drilling delivers visual copper for Emmerson at Tenant Creek

Emmerson Resources (ASX:ERM) reports that it has intersected visible native copper, malachite and chalcopyrite from maiden RC drilling at its Hermitage Project near Tennant Creek.

Drilling was aimed at establishing thickness, plunge, and potential for extensions to the property’s historical mineralisation, particularly high-grade copper and gold mineralisation reported earlier in October including 9m @ 12.8g/t Au from 176m and 23m @ 4.84g/t Au + 3.7% Cu from 203m.

The company notes that visual estimates are approximate only, and accurate values will be reported once assay results are returned from the laboratory in Q4 2021.

visual results…provide immediate confirmation of the potential of the cluster of 100% Emmerson owned copper-gold-cobalt projects”

Addressing the update, Emmerson Resources Managing Director Rob Bills said: “The visual results from first pass drilling at Hermitage provide immediate confirmation of the potential of the cluster of 100% Emmerson owned copper-gold-cobalt projects in the northern corridor of Tennant Creek that includes nearby Jasper Hills. This drilling is giving new insight into the underlying geology of an area that is covered and has seen little previous exploration.”

Hermitage is one of a cluster of prospects that occurs within the northern corridor at Tennant Creek. These prospects, including North Star, Jasper Hills, Katherine Star, Northern Star, Edna Beryl, Thrace, and Macedon are 100% Emmerson-owned tenements.

The company notes that the true thickness of these various copper zones is unknown and will require further drilling to better understand the strike and plunge of mineralisation.

Further work on the reported exploration targets will include assessment of assay results when received from the lab, updating the geological model and interpretation of ironstone from recent drilling, collection of representative samples of hematite for age dating, collection of representative samples of chlorite rock for mineral chemistry, and compilation of historical geophysical data.
