Macmahon gains major underground contracts

Macmahon Holdings (ASX:MAH) has obtained two separate underground mining services contracts, valued at $172 million, at the Deflector Underground Gold-Copper Mine, as well as the Gwalia and Ulysses projects in Western Australia.

The Deflector contract, beginning in May, involves Macmahon providing underground and mine development works, as well as production services and all other associated works.

Macmahon, which has a market capitalisation of $549.52 million, expects the contract to add $105 million to its secured orderbook.

Meanwhile, the company has also been appointed as Genesis Minerals’ (ASX:GMD) mining contractor for the Gwalia and Ulysses projects, located in the Lenora region of Western Australia.

The company will conduct underground and mine development activities, as well as production services and all other associated works.

The existing Gwalia contract has been terminated by mutual consent and the parties have entered into a new contract that includes the services at both projects.

As part of the 13-month contract, Macmahon will begin work this month and expects it to add $67 million to the company’s secured orderbook.

Macmahon offers mining and civil infrastructure services throughout Australia and Southeast Asia. The company has experience in surface mining, underground mining, and civil infrastructure.
