Mineral explorer M3 Mining (ASX:M3M) has begun an expedited aircore (AC) drilling program at the El Capitan prospect within its Edjudina Gold Project in Western Australia.
The company has decided to go forth with a 4,000m AC drilling program following a scout drilling program that was completed in May 2023.
M3 reports the scout drilling program returned results including drillhole EDJAC2737 with 4m @ 13.5g/t Au from 24m. Additionally, re-assays returned 309.4g/t Au and 638.8g/t Au.
Commenting on the fresh drilling program, M3 Mining Executive Director Simon Eley says: “M3 Mining is extremely pleased and excited to be rapidly back out in the field drilling at the El Capitan prospect following the outstanding results from the initial scout drilling program completed early in May.
“The significance of potential positive results from this rapid subsequent AC program is considerable”
The focus is to test the extent of the primary mineralisation of the El Capitan prospect. It is a credit to our small but motivated and enthusiastic team that we’ve been able to return to the field so quickly following the receipt and processing of the initial results received in early June.
The significance of potential positive results from this rapid subsequent AC program is considerable.”
The El Capitan prospect has never been drilled before, and the area around the prospect contains ‘significant’ quartz scree with a localised moderate relief hill composed of weathered, weakly sheared carbonate-altered fine grain mafic and ultramafic outcrop.
M3 Mining is a Perth-based explorer focused on the exploration and development of its ‘high-quality’ copper and gold portfolio. The company’s portfolio of assets includes the Edjudina Project, located 150km northeast of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia, and the Victoria Bore Project, located 120km south of Onslow in Western Australia.
