Lunnon Metals (ASX:LM8) reports that it has received results following an infill and extensional reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling (DD) operations at the Baker Shoot, as part of its Kambalda Nickel Project in Western Australia.
The recently returned results will aid in infilling and extending the initial JORC 2012 compliant Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), which currently boasts an initial total of 568,000t @ 2.80% Ni, 0.24% Cu, 0.05% Co, 0.46g/t Pd, and 0.22g/t Pt.
Key results include:
- Hole ECO22DD_015: 6.9m @ 4.33% Ni, 0.72% Cu, 0.07% Co, 0.89g/t Pd, 0.35g/t Pt from 139.85m
- Hole ECO22DD_008: 2.55m @ 6.71% Ni, 0.26% Cu, 0.14% Co, 0.68g/t Pd, 0.20g/t Pt from 265.70m
- Hole ECO22RC_047: 5m @ 4.15% Ni, 0.31% Cu, 0.07% Co, 1.27g/t Pd, 0.34g/t Pt from 135m
Addressing the results, Lunnon Metals Managing Director, Ed Ainscough, commented: “The overwhelming majority of the RC infill and extensional results matched or were better than the June 2022 MRE, an excellent validation of the robustness of the current model, which will only be enhanced with this extra data.

There are a number of high priority diamond holes to come and once these are back we can move straight into the re-interpretation and geological analysis stage ahead of the next MRE update.”
The company also notes that these results are better than expected and match the locality, widths and grades that were predicted by the June 2022 Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE).
In addition, it is reported that drillhole ECO22DD_008 was carried out down-dip and outside the boundaries of the current June 2022 MRE, with the results demonstrating that the hanging wall mineralisation continues in this direction and supports historical drilling results.
The Baker Shoot is located about 2.5km from the company’s neighbouring Foster Nickel Mine in Western Australia and currently boasts a total JORC 2012 MRE of 568,000t @ 2.80% Ni, 0.24% Cu, 0.05% Co, 0.46g/t Pd and 0.22g/t Pt, with a cut-off grade of 1.0% Ni.
Lunnon Metals currently holds 100% of all associated tenements within the Foster and Jan projects that form part of the greater Kambalda Nickel Project, with the world renowned nickel district producing in excess of 1.4 million tonnes of nickel metal to date.
With a number of high priority diamond drillhole assays yet to be returned, Lunnon Metals remains focused on completing a positive update to the MRE in the December quarter, with these results, an updated plan and cross-sectional figures expected to aid in the update.
