Lion One feasts on its rewards after discovering gold feeder zone at Tuvatu

Lion One Metals (ASX:LLO) reports the presence of a ‘high-grade’ gold feeder zone from an ongoing follow-up diamond drilling (DD) campaign at its Tuvatu Alkaline Gold Project in Fiji.

The results, generated by the first two DD drillholes of an ongoing follow-up drilling campaign at the ‘significant’ new feeder zone has returned ‘high-grade’ gold anomalism with key results including:

Hole TUDDH-601:

  • 26.20g/t Au over .20m from 165.7-166.9m
  • 115.42g/t Au over 1.80m from 252.4-254.2m
  • 12.22g/t Au over 54.90m from 576.1-631.0m, including
    • 23.02g/t Au over 20.10m from 576.1-596.2m, which includes 29.24g/t Au over 15.6m
    • 8.09g/t Au over 20.70m from 602.5-623.2m, which includes 9.25g/t Au over 7.80m and 15.03g/t Au over 5.40m

Hole TUG-145:

  • 6.72g/t Au over 15.30m from 110.4-125.7m, including
    • 41.16g/t Au over 1.20m from 117.3-118.5m
  • 20.38 g/t Au over 0.90m from 278.7-279.6m
  • 28.68g/t Au over 1.80m from 305.4-307.2m

Speaking on the results, Lion One CEO, Walter Berukoff, commented: “The spectacular discovery previously announced as the result of drilling hole TUG-141 has been confirmed by follow-up drilling in hole TUDDH-601.

“The positive confirmation of the longest high-grade intercept yet recorded at Tuvatu gives us further confidence”

The positive confirmation of the longest high-grade intercept yet recorded at Tuvatu gives us further confidence that we are just now beginning to unlock the true potential of the 500 Zone high-grade feeder.

The persistent success of our systematic drilling programs at Tuvatu underscores the significance of Tuvatu as a potentially multi-million-ounce, world-class high-grade Au deposit.”

The company also notes that the ‘high-grade’ mineralisation corresponds with previous drillhole TUG-141, despite the fact that drillhole TUG-145 drifted to the west.

In addition, it is the company’s belief that the lithological contact between monzonite and andesite form a primary control on the ‘high-grade’ mineralisation within this area, and that the contact at depth and along strike represents a first-order target for future follow-up drilling.

The Tuvatu Alkaline Gold Project is located about 24km north-east of the township of Nadi and situated upon the island of Viti Levu within the Republic of Fiji and is set to help Lion One in becoming the premier ‘high-grade’ gold producer for the South Pacific island nation, with the company owning 100% of all associated tenements.

With the current drilling campaign still ongoing, Lion One announces that the next two drillholes are expected to provide good information on the potential width and possible down plunge extent of the newly identified ‘high-grade’ zone.
