Critical minerals exploration company Lightning Minerals (ASX:L1M) reports it has appointed geologist Jarrad Woodland as its exploration manager.
The company says Woodland brings about 20 years’ experience in exploration, operations, and project management across various commodities, including lithium, base metals, copper, and a host of critical metals.
It notes he holds a Bachelor of Science (Applied Geology), which he acquired from Curtin University, located in Perth, Western Australia.
Speaking on the appointment, Lightning Minerals Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alex Biggs says: “I welcome Jarrad to the Lightning Minerals’ team as we continue our exploration at our Dundas projects.

In addition, the appointment of Woodland comes alongside the appointment of Will Clarke, who has recently joined the company as its new Project Geologist and brings with him ‘strong’ experience in both lithium and base metals in both Australia and Canada.
The company also reports that the expertise and experience of both Woodland and Clarke supports the company’s exploration strategy for critical minerals and will be utilised to advance its Dundas projects located in Western Australia.
Lightning Minerals is an ASX-listed, critical minerals focused exploration company that sees a growing demand for lithium, nickel, cobalt, copper, and platinum group elements (PGEs) and wishes to fulfil this critical minerals deficit.
The company’s Dundas tenements are located near the township of Norseman within Western Australia’s Dundas region and comprise 8 licences that it acquired from globally leading iron ore industry company Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) Resources.
The tenements cover a total land holding of about 454km-square within the Dundas region, which has experienced mining in gold and nickel and is now, over recent years, emerging as a lithium and critical minerals province with multiple discoveries and ‘significant’ exploration activity.
With Woodland now appointed as the company’s new exploration manager, Lightning Minerals announces that soil sampling and other exploration activities across the Dundas project are nearing completion.
These exploration activities were undertaken to assist in identifying priority drill targets.
