LE Minerals completes Upper Aquifer drilling at White Plains

LE Minerals (ASX:LEL) has completed two drilling programs at the White Plains Lithium Brine Project in Utah, US to define lithium brine potential in the Upper Aquifer.

The company completed a 10-hole direct push drilling program using a Geoprobe rig to 15m depth at 2.5km by 2.5km spacing to determine the extent of lithium mineralisation and depth in the Upper Aquifer.

Brine samples were obtained from the base of each drill hole for assay, with two larger volume samples collected for potential direct lithium extraction testwork, alongside core samples for lithological logging.

LE Minerals also completed a follow-up surface auger sampling program comprising 10 holes to 2m depth. The program extended sampling to southern claims and twinned two previous auger holes to determine seasonal variation in lithium brine concentrations.

Of the 10 auger holes sampled, brine samples were collected from five holes while the southern holes were found to be dry.

Previous geophysical surveys mapped the basin architecture at White Plains, identifying a near-surface Upper Aquifer and a deeper aquifer starting at approximately 200m depth with 150m thickness.

In 2025, the company completed a surface auger sampling program comprising 22 samples, with assay results confirming all brine samples reported up to 100mg/l lithium.

The company will provide an update once assay results are received.

Subject to these results, LE Minerals expects to define a maiden JORC mineral resource estimate for lithium mineralisation in the Upper Aquifer.

Located approximately 200km west of Salt Lake City, White Plains comprises 6,180 hectares of mineral claims and exploration rights over approximately 2,340 hectares of mineral leases from Utah’s School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration.

LE Minerals is a battery minerals explorer focused on gold, lithium, graphite, and copper properties.
