Kingfisher Mining (ASX:KFM) has intersected silver–lead–zinc mineralisation from as shallow as 5m at its Allendale Silver-Lead-Zinc Project near Broken Hill in New South Wales.
The nine-hole, 802m reverse circulation program tested extensions to mineralised zones identified through historical exploration.
Hole 26ADRC_052 returned 9m @ 8.05% combined lead (Pb) and zinc (Zn) and 17.9 grams per tonne silver (Ag) from 64m. This included 5m @ 10.37% Pb+Zn and 23.2g/t Ag from 65m. A separate zone in the same hole intersected 4m @ 6.12% Pb+Zn and 22.7g/t Ag from 78m, including 1m @ 12.53% Pb+Zn and 30.1g/t Ag.
Other results included 2m @ 5.63% Pb+Zn and 41.5g/t Ag from 53m in hole 26ADRC_051, including 1m @ 9.51% Pb+Zn and 61g/t Ag. Hole 26ADRC_050 returned 7m @ 3.32% Pb+Zn and 7.9g/t Ag from 37m, including 3m @ 5.42% Pb+Zn and 13.2g/t Ag.
Meanwhile, hole 26ADRC_054 intersected 7m @ 1.90% Pb+Zn and 5.9g/t Ag from 5m, which the company notes shows mineralisation extends close to the surface.
The latest assays build on historical results including 10m @ 16.1% Pb+Zn and 29g/t Ag from 15m, and 2m @ 19.9% Pb+Zn and 39.2g/t Ag from 47m.
Managing Director Chris Bittar says Kingfisher will combine the new results with historical exploration information to assess the continuity and scale of the mineralised system.
“We will now integrate these results into the geological model and assess the broader potential of Allendale, while continuing to advance our highest-priority Broken Hill opportunities,” Bittar says.
Kingfisher owns 75% of Allendale, while Broken Hill Mines (ASX:BHM) holds the remaining 25%.
The companies also have a mining and processing agreement that presents a framework for evaluating whether future mineralisation could be processed using existing infrastructure around Broken Hill. Allendale remains at the exploration stage, with further work required to establish its scale, continuity, metallurgy, and economic potential.
