Kenorland completes maiden drilling at Western Wabigoon

Kenorland Minerals (TSX-V:KLD) has wrapped up its maiden diamond drilling program at the Western Wabigoon Gold Project in northwestern Ontario.

Covering 4,089m, the nine-hole program tested the project’s W2 target area, particularly a 3km gold-in-till and gold anomaly.

Drilling confirmed the presence of north-northeast and northeast-trending shear zones interpreted to intersect along the target area.

Multiple alteration and sulphide mineralisation assemblages were logged along the entire tested strike length, with the target remaining open toward the north and southwest.

Localised visible gold was also observed in drill hole 26DFDD005 to the southwest.

Drilling intersected several styles of mineralisation, including visible gold-bearing smoky quartz vein associated with pyrite-pyrrhotite; shear-hosted arsenopyrite-pyrite; semi-massive to massive pyrrhotite-pyrite with chalcopyrite and sphalerite; and intrusion-hosted disseminated arsenopyrite-pyrite.

Kenorland notes that although favourable alteration, mineralisation and localized visible gold have been observed within the drill core, its presence does not necessarily indicate economically significant grades, and assay results are required to assess its significance.

The broader 2026 exploration program also included heavy mineral concentrate sampling across secondary target areas, with 157 samples collected.

The Western Wabigoon Project covers key intersections of major deformation zones within the Archaean Greenstone Belt. Kenorland holds the project under an earn-in agreement with a subsidiary of Centerra (TSE:CG).

Assay results from the campaign are expected by mid- to late third quarter, after which both companies will determine next steps.

Kenorland Minerals is focused on project generation and early-stage exploration in North America.
