Kalamazoo Resources (ASX:KZR) has begun drilling at its Ashburton Gold Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, covering 14,000m of reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling to upgrade the asset’s resource estimate.
The program has been designed to increase the geological confidence of the Mt Olympus resource model, upgrade the area from the inferred resource to the indicated classification, support future ore reserve estimation, and assist with the ongoing Prefeasibility Study.
Using 20m by 20m spacing, drilling will focus on the resource infill areas within the existing deposit.
The project currently has a resource estimate of 16.2 million tonnes @ 2.8 grams per tonne gold for 1.44 million ounces gold, with the Mt Olympus deposit containing an estimated mineable quantity of 772,000 ounces @ 2.53g/t gold.
Diamond drilling conducted by DDH1 and RC drilling will be conducted by Strike Drilling.
Executive Director Ben Ackerman says the company is focused on increasing resource confidence and supporting the Mt Olympus Prefeasibility Study following the completion of phase one growth drilling.
“An RC rig is already on the ground, delivering rapid coverage across the deposit, including targeted infill of inferred resource areas to support potential conversion to higher confidence categories,” Ackerman says.
“Two diamond rigs are also scheduled to commence in early April 2026, expanding drilling capacity and capturing the critical geological and geotechnical data needed to underpin the next stage of project development.”
Kalamazoo Resources is an Australian explorer focused on advancing its portfolio of gold and base metals projects.
