Jindalee Resources achieves ‘huge’ lithium intercepts at McDermitt

Jindalee Resources (ASX: JRL) has reported ‘huge’ lithium intercepts exceeding 3,000ppm Li following diamond drilling at its McDermitt Lithium Project in Oregon, United States.

The results, generated from 6 diamond core holes, have returned some of the project’s thickest lithium mineralisation to date, including 60m @ 1880ppm Li.

Further significant ‘high-grade’ hits include:

  • MDD014:
    • 15.0m @ 1889ppm Li from 10m
    • 9.0m @ 1241ppm Li from 29.5m
    • 38.0m @ 1751 ppm Li from 43.0m; including
      • 3.0m @ 3805 ppm Li
  • MDD015:
    • 21.0m @ 1952ppm Li from 24.0m; including
      • 3.0m @ 3605ppm Li
    • 10.5m @ 1281ppm Li from 54.0m
    • 9.0m @ 1435ppm Li from 79.5m
  • MDD016:
    • 10.5m @ 1005ppm Li from 3.0m
    • 34.5m @ 1124ppm Li from 18.0m
    • 24.0m @ 2210ppm Li from 61.5m; including
      • 9.0m @ 3000ppm Li
    • 21.0m @ 1123ppm Li from 93.0m
    • 9.0m @ 1915ppm Li from 118.5m
    • 7.5m @ 1661ppm Li from 136.5m
  • MDD017:
    • 7.5m @ 1276ppm Li from 10.5m
    • 40.5m @ 1714ppm Li from 33.0m; including
      • 12.0m @ 2732ppm Li
    • 22.5m @ 1513ppm Li from 81.0m
  • MDD018:
    • 27.0m @ 2097ppm Li from 15m; including
      • 10.5m @ 2785ppm Li
    • 60.0m @ 1880ppm Li from 48.0m; including
      • 15.0m @ 2707ppm Li
  • MDD019:
    • 16.5m @ 1547ppm Li from 6.0m
    • 73.5m @ 1554ppm Li from 30.0m; including
      • 10.5m @ 3055ppm Li

Jindalee reports that these results provide significant mineralisation near surface with ‘excellent’ grade continuity.

The company also notes that drilling encountered ‘higher-grade’ zones returning in excess of 3,000ppm Li within the mineral resource, reinforcing McDermitt’s potential scalability.

The McDermitt Lithium Project is located in south-east Oregon in the United States, with Jindalee Resources owning 100% of all tenements. A maiden Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate was completed in late 2019 which reported 150Mt @ 2,000ppm Li (0.43% Li2O) at a 1,750ppm Li cut-off.

With the diamond drill campaign complete, Jindalee reports that it plans to move forward with the next phase of drill testing in order to investigate untested mineral potential across western tenure for higher grade material.

This new diamond drill data will be used to update the Mineral Resource Estimate which is expected to be completed during Q2 2022.
