Investigator Resources (ASX:IVR) is kicking off activities to advance a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) for its Paris Silver Project in South Australia.
The $57.48 million market capitalisation company says a key focus of the DFS is to advance the details of and validate the assumptions made in its Prefeasibility Study (PFS). The DFS is scheduled to be completed early next year.
Ahead of the DFS, environmental consultancy group JBS&G has been appointed to tackle environmental fieldwork and assessments in the project area.
JBS&G reviewed a range of environmental and risk assessment reports, and, as a result, has developed a work plan for a field survey.
A team was mobilised to the site this week to conduct a flora and fauna survey, with the objective of building on prior survey work. Investigator says it has strategically timed the survey to occur in spring, when maximum diversity is expected to occur in the region.
Meanwhile, Melbourne-based engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) consultant Mincore has been appointed to complete design and cost estimates for the processing plant and infrastructure.
Hydrological modelling has been ongoing since drilling and pump testing was completed in July this year. The hydrological model data will be input into open-pit design, and the modelling of water availability is in progress.
The company also notes the lead recovery testwork is in progress at ALS laboratories in Burnie, Tasmania.
Commenting on these key DFS activities, Investigator Resources Managing Director Andrew Mcllwain says: “Ultimately, these packages of work will form the basis of our application to the South Australian regulatory for the granting of a mining lease.
“All these work packages are the key elements that will continue to the Paris DFS, which is scheduled for completion in early 2024″
Following the completion of the field hydrological program in June, the modelling and analysis has been finalised at the proposed Paris pit area, providing key data to facilitate completion of geotechnical assessment of the deposit in advance of re-optimisation using the 2023 Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) data.
Finally, the lead recovery testwork is underway at the ALS laboratory and is due for completion in October. All these work packages are the key elements that will continue to the Paris DFS, which is scheduled for completion in early 2024.”
The Paris Silver Project is located 70km north of the rural township of Kimba on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula.
Investigator Resources is a minerals explorer with a focus on opportunities for silver-lead, copper-gold, and other metal discoveries. The company primarily focuses on discoveries in the Gawler Craton of South Australia.
As of 30 June 2023, the company had $4.5 million cash at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
