Infinity outlines 500m Tanjil Dome anomaly

Infinity Mining (ASX:IMI) has outlined an antimony-arsenic soil anomaly extending for at least 500m at the Tanjil Dome prospect in Victoria.

The anomaly was defined through soil sampling on a 50m by 50m grid, with portable XRF readings peaking at 751 parts per million (ppm) antimony (Sb) and 791ppm arsenic (As). Initial laboratory assays returned up to 177 parts per billion gold (Au), while results remain pending for a substantial proportion of samples.

Selectively collected rock chip samples from surface exposures returned up to 48.7% Sb and 0.05 grams per tonne (g/t) Au from massive stibnite veining.

A laminated quartz-vein sample assayed 5.32% Sb and 1.35g/t Au, while a separate sample of stibnite breccia hosted in altered dyke material returned 45.3% Sb and 0.07g/t Au.

Infinity says the different mineralisation styles indicate antimony occurs in quartz veins and brecciated intrusive material. The company interprets the coincident soil geochemistry, stibnite veining, brecciation, and altered dykes as evidence of a structurally controlled hydrothermal system.

Executive Chairman Cameron Petricevic says the soil results indicate the mineralisation is not confined to a single surface occurrence.

“The anomaly extends over several hundred metres and remains open, giving us a clear pathway for systematic follow-up work and drill targeting,” Petricevic says.

Tanjil Dome is being explored through a joint venture with Mining One Consultants. It lies across the Tanjil Bren and Walhalla South Extended tenements within the Melbourne Zone of Victoria’s eastern goldfields.

Infinity plans to extend the soil sampling grid and test a secondary magnetic anomaly 400–500m north of the main target. Further work will include structural mapping and preparing work plans for trenching and maiden drilling.

The results are from an early-stage surface program, with the rock chips selectively collected from visibly mineralised material and therefore not considered representative of the prospect as a whole.
