Infinity Mining prepares to launch RC drilling at Brisbane Nickel prospect in WA

Infinity Mining (ASX:IMI) is planning to begin its first reverse circulation (RC) drilling program in early June 2023 at the Brisbane Nickel prospect in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The company states the program will consist of 10 holes for 1,700m, with the aim of drill testing both the surface geochemistry and VTEM anomalies.

Additionally, 6 of the holes will be drilled at an incline under existing rock chip geochemistry and anomalous gossan to test down dip extensions of the peridotite. Meanwhile, the remaining 4 holes will be drilled as inclined scissor holes to test the offset VTEM anomaly.

Commenting on the upcoming exploration, Infinity Mining Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Joe Groot says: “Infinity’s team has been in the East Pilbara since late February this year. An early start has been essential to the delivery of the cultural clearance and planning for the May/June drilling programs.

In addition, we have now completed the Ambient Noise Tomography survey over our Tambourah South tenement. Whilst undertaking this field work, we have also completed the road access, site preparation and remote camp infrastructure set-up necessary to allow drilling to commence on time.”

In 2022, preparatory field geology was completed to facilitate the current drilling program, which involved 35 rock chip samples being taken across the prospect and returning up to 7,636 parts per million (ppm) (0.74%) Ni and 8,918ppm (0.892%) chromium (Cr).

Much of the exploration work completed at the prospect to date has been focused on nickel and the surrounding areas, however the preliminary results from the recent helicopter-EM (VTEM) survey, which are currently being processed and provide Infinity new targets to follow-up in 2023.

Infinity Mining holds 100% interest in 681.53km-square of tenements in the East Pilbara and 13.81km-square in the Central Goldfields regions of Western Australia. The company is focused on targeting and exploring gold, copper, lithium, and base metals, alongside developing its mining projects.
