Independence Gold (TSX-V:IGO) has discovered a new ‘high-grade’ gold vein at its 3Ts Gold Project in British Columbia, Canada, returning 9.1m @ 14.7 grams per tonne gold.
The company intersected the new Goofy vein in discovery drill hole 3TS-26-39, which also returned 36.7g/t silver across the intersection with an estimated true width of 7m. The vein sits approximately 250m west of the existing Ted-Mint vein system.
Independence Gold discovered the Goofy vein by testing radial structural corridors identified through its evolving structural exploration model and thorium anomalies from a 2025 airborne radiometric survey.
The company says the discovery represents the second blind vein found using this targeting methodology, following the Balrog discovery announced in June.
The 3Ts Gold Project comprises 31 mineral claims covering approximately 35,486 hectares in the Nechako Plateau region, situated 185km southwest of Prince George and 16km southwest of Artemis Gold’s Blackwater mine.
The project hosts a low-sulphidation epithermal quartz-carbonate vein district with at least 20 known mineralised veins, 11 of which remain untested by drilling.
CEO Randy Turner says the discovery of the Goofy vein provides further validation of the exploration model Independence Gold’s technical team has been developing over the past year.
“Following the success of the Balrog discovery, Goofy represents another previously unknown vein system identified by targeting radial structural corridors interpreted from our geological work and supported by airborne radiometric data,” Turner says.
“While this initial intercept is an excellent result in its own right, what is particularly encouraging is the repeatability of the exploration model.
“Every successful discovery improves our understanding of the district and increases our confidence that additional blind vein systems remain to be discovered across the property.”
The company has completed additional drilling both along strike and beneath the discovery intersection, with assays pending. It also notes the vein remains open along strike and at depth.
Independence Gold completed its planned 2026 diamond drilling program with 10,000m drilled across the 3Ts Project. This resulted in the discovery of both the Balrog and Goofy veins while testing extensions to several known vein systems.
Independence Gold is a mineral explorer with various holdings ranging from early-stage exploration to resource expansion in British Columbia and Yukon.
