Heavy Rare Earths plans for South Ridge tin drilling

Heavy Rare Earths (ASX:HRE) will begin a 2,500m drilling program at its South Ridge tin deposit within the Prospect Hill Project in South Australia during early second quarter.

The company aims to drill up to 24 holes, including 20 reverse circulation and four diamond holes, targeting extensions to known tin mineralisation that remains open along strike and at depth.

Previous drilling at South Ridge confirmed tin mineralisation over 500m of strike length and to 120m depth, with ‘high-grade’ intercepts including 3m at 4.85% tin from 44m, 5m at 3.32% tin from 84m, and 6m at 2.33% tin from 14m.

Chair Gabriel Chiappini says the program aims to establish a maiden resource estimate at South Ridge.

“We are excited to be advanced in our planning for Heavy Rare Earth’s maiden drill program at the South Ridge prospect, South Australia’s largest tin project, and look forward to mobilising a drill rig shortly for a 2,500m program,” Chiappini says.

“Historic intersections already include 6m at 3.56% tin, and 5m at 3.22% tin, and we look forward to testing the extensions and depth of the current mineralisation, with the aim of establishing a maiden mineral resource estimate at South Ridge.”

The Prospect Hill Project comprises three contiguous exploration tenements covering 75km² along the northwestern margin of the Curnamona Craton.

The company says permit and consent approvals are well advanced, including heritage clearance with the Dieri Traditional Owners. Results and a maiden resource estimate are targeted for late second quarter.

Tin currently trades at US$45,681 per tonne, representing a 39.78% increase for this year over year according to Trading Economics.
