Hamelin Gold encounters ‘significant’ heavy rare earth mineralisation at West Tanami

Hastings sees rare earths ‘super trend’ at Yangibana following initial drill results

Hastings Technology Metals (ASX: HAS) has reported initial results including high NdPr content from a 170-hole RC drilling program at its Yangibana Rare Earths Project in Western Australia.

The results have successfully extended mineralised zones with wide, ‘high-grade’ intersections, which the company says reinforces the ‘exceptional’ quality of mineralisation at the deposit.

Drilling to date along a defined 8km trend at the project’s Fraser’s and Simon’s Find deposits has returned key results including:

  • Hole SFRC239: 6m @ 2.01% TREO from 90m
  • Hole FFRC259: 7m @ 1.47% TREO from 65m
  • Hole SFRC245: 11m @ 0.75% TREO from 53m
  • Hole SFRC208: 10m @ 0.71% TREO from 88m

Commenting on the results, Hastings Technology Metals COO Andrew Reid said: “The results of this drilling program give us further confidence on the expanded size potential for Yangibana which could lead to further significant growth in Mineral Resources in the future.

The results of this drilling program give us further confidence on the expanded size potential for Yangibana”

The Bald Hill – Simon’s Find – Frasers trend is turning into a super trend of rare earth mineralisation, with its proximity to the process plant as critical start-up feed. The exceptional 50% NdPr content in the Simon’s Find results coupled with a strong rare earths price environment will possibly increase Ore Reserves and mine life.”

The company also notes that the results highlighted from the Simon’s Find deposit contain an average NdPr:TREO composition of 50%, with drill hole FRC222 delivering 57% NdPr in TREO.

In addition, this recent drilling has successfully in-filled inferred mineralised zones, identifying extensions down dip outside of the current Mineral Resource envelope.

Yangibana is located within the Gascoyne region of Western Australia and covers a total land area of 650km².

Hastings holds a 100% interest in six mining leases, two prospecting licences, 11 exploration licences, five general purpose leases and 13 miscellaneous licences. This is complemented by a 70% interest in three mining leases, eight exploration licences, and two general purpose leases. Mining leases at the project cover 21 years and are granted over a 50km² area.

With drilling at the project now complete, the company reports that it expects to deliver a Mineral Resource Estimate upgrade in the second half of 2022 once all assays have been received, and upon the completion of resource modelling.
