Hamelin Gold hits ‘high-grade’ intercepts at Day Dawn

Hamelin Gold (ASX:HMG) reports ‘high-grade’ gold intercepts from its maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Day Dawn Gold Project in Western Australia’s Paterson Province.

Assay results from 15 of 28 holes drilled at the Aurora lode confirm shallow gold mineralisation, with standout intercepts including 3m @ 93.40 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 9m, 3m @ 10.90g/t Au from 7m, 5m @ 9.10g/t Au from 18m, and 4m @ 21.00g/t Au from 27m.

Initial assays also included testing at the parallel Altus lode, which likewise intersected mineralisation, returning 1m @ 11.40g/t Au from 26m and 2m @ 7g/t Au from 45m, including 1m @ 12g/t Au from 46m.

Hamelin has also identified multiple parallel lodes, indicating potential for repetitions of Aurora.

Managing Director Peter Bewick says initial results from maiden drilling at Day Dawn are ‘highly encouraging’.

“The results support our reinterpretation of historical drilling at the Aurora lode and highlight the significant high-grade gold potential of the project, with mineralisation remaining open at depth and along strike across parallel lodes,” Bewick says.

The Day Dawn Gold Project covers approximately 20km2 and is located 10km northwest of the 20-million-ounce Telfer gold-copper mine.

HMG considers the northeast-trending lodes identified at the project as potential indicators of a larger, untested gold system at depth similar to the Telfer deposit style.

Hamelin is planning phase two RC drilling in August 2026, covering 3,000m and targeting down-plunge extensions of the Aurora lode and parallel positions within the broader mineralised corridor.

Diamond drilling is also set to commence in September 2026 to test the deeper system model, which will be co-funded up to $180,000 by the Western Australian Government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS).

Meanwhile, results from the remaining 13 holes of Hamelin’s initial drilling program are expected in early August 2026.

Day Dawn remains the company’s primary exploration focus over the coming months, with work continuing to deepen understanding of the project’s scale.

Hamelin Gold is a Perth-based gold explorer with landholdings in the Tanami, Paterson, and Yilgarn gold provinces of Western Australia.
