H3 Energy (ASX:H3E) has reported completion of the pre-stack time migration phase of 3D seismic reprocessing at its Warro Project in Western Australia’s northern Perth Basin.
Velseis Processing is reprocessing seismic data from across the project’s R7 licence that was originally processed in 2011. H3 says the updated imaging provides greater continuity and detail than the legacy dataset.
Velseis is preparing to begin pre-stack depth migration — the final phase of the project — with the full program expected to be completed by the end of September.
H3 says the upgraded data may support further geophysical analysis to identify sand units and higher-porosity zones within the Yarragadee reservoir, subject to a suitable rock-physics response.
H3 Chief Executive Officer Nik Sykiotis says the imaging will also improve the company’s ability to map deeper targets.
“The data quality is also good enough to help us identify the sweet spots in the reservoir, provided that the rock physics works,” Sykiotis says.
The company is assessing whether higher-porosity areas could be connected through horizontal drilling to achieve commercial gas flow rates. H3 says the depth-migrated data will be used to guide any future horizontal well placement.
Reprocessing has also improved the image of deeper stratigraphy, which H3 notes will assess potential conventional targets that could be tested by deepening an existing well.
The company considers recent commercial gas flow from an unstimulated interval at the Walyering Field, approximately 60km southwest of R7, supportive of the potential for deeper targets. Further interpretation is required to determine whether comparable targets occur at Warro.
H3 says the reprocessed data is being provided to third parties evaluating potential farm-in arrangements for the project.
The work is supported by a $50,000 Exploration Incentive Scheme grant awarded by the Department of Mines, Energy, and Exploration in April 2026.
