Guardian Metals is proposing to change its name to Halo Minerals, amid preparations for a return to the London AIM Market following the completion of a pre-initial public offering (IPO) capital raise.
The Alternative Investment Market (AIM) is the London Stock Exchange’s market for small and medium size growth companies. It has served as a platform enabling growth-oriented companies to access public capital and drive global economic progress for over 30 years.
Subject to market conditions and the completion of required due diligence, an IPO fundraising admission to trading on AIM is targeted for completion towards the end of Q1 2026.
The funds will be used to take the Playa Verde Project in Chile to a final investment decision.
Guardian Metals says that the rebranding to Halo Minerals reflects its renewed focus on producing strategic and battery metals through the reprocessing of metal-rich, surface-accumulated legacy mining waste projects.
The company aims to show a responsible and sustainable approach to mineral production, working alongside local communities and stakeholders.
To support Guardian Metals’ growth strategy and AIM listing, the company has also appointed two geologists – David Minchin and Daniel Bloor – to the company’s corporate board.
Both geologists’ will complement the tenacity of the executive team in advancing Playa Verde, as well as pursuing additional growth opportunities in Chile and potentially, other international jurisdictions.
Guardian Metals has a defined strategy to advance Playa Verde, including undertaking further technical and project evaluation work necessary to refine the development pathway.
Playa Verde has a 53 million tonnes @ 0.24% copper-equivalent resource, with a completed Definitive Feasibility Study which was optimised in 2018. The project is expected to deliver 5 million tonnes of ore per year, with a 72% copper recovery rate.
Guardian Metals is focused on extracting and producing battery and strategic metals with a primary focus on copper.
