Golden Horse extends Greenmount gold mineralisation

Golden Horse Minerals (ASX:GHM) has extended gold mineralisation more than 115m down plunge from historical drilling at its Greenmount prospect near Southern Cross, Western Australia.

The company completed nine reverse circulation (RC) holes at Greenmount, located 8km south of the town, with each intersecting gold mineralisation. The program tested a 230m-plus strike extension of the historical system, which was mined above the water table until 1912 and produced about 16,000 ounces of gold (Au).

Results include 8m @ 16.3 grams per tonne Au from 209m in hole 26GMRC006, including 3m @ 37.6g/t Au from 214m. The company also intersected 8m @ 8.6g/t Au from 218m in hole 26GMRC004, including 3m @ 20.9g/t Au from 222m.

Other results comprise 12m @ 5.2g/t Au from 139m in hole 26GMRC005, including 4m @ 11.9g/t Au from 144m, and 14m @ 2.08g/t Au from 183m in hole 26GMRC008.

Golden Horse says the drilling extended mineralisation to a vertical depth of more than 150m, with consistent widths and grades.

CEO Nicholas Anderson notes the results confirm the down-plunge extension of the historical system.

“While Hopes Hill remains our flagship project, these results highlight the significant value and upside that exists across our broader Southern Cross landholding,” Anderson says.

Mineralisation at Greenmount occurs along the upper contact between metasedimentary and metamafic rocks, providing what the company considers a consistent target for deeper drilling. Golden Horse interprets the pervasive quartz veining as being related to dilatational zones associated with pyrrhotite-arsenopyrite mineralisation.

Immediately north of Golden Horse’s drilling area, Barto Gold Mining reported a 57,000-ounce gold mineral resource at its Greenmount prospect in August 2024.

Elsewhere in Golden Horse’s portfolio, grab sampling of historical stockpiles at the Withers prospect returned a peak result of 15.08g/t Au. Most assays from RC drilling at the Bells and Lynette prospects remain pending, while results from Marionete confirmed mineralisation to about 130m vertical depth.

Golden Horse has also appointed an independent resource geologist to prepare an inaugural mineral resource estimate for its Hopes Hill prospect, with completion expected later in 2026.

Regional field mapping, sampling, and auger drilling are scheduled to resume from July ahead of further RC drilling later in the year.
