Golden Dragon Mining (ASX:GDR) reports kilometre-scale gold anomalies from its maiden auger drilling program at the Coodardy/Behring Bore area within the Cue Gold Project in Western Australia.
The 827-hole campaign has defined two large gold-in-soil anomalies extending over more than 3km of strike in a northeast orientation, linking the Curtis Find, Behring Bore, Coodardy, and Piston prospects.
Managing Director Simon Buswell-Smith says the results represent a ‘significant’ step forward for Golden Dragon.
“The strength, scale, and coherence of the gold-in-soil anomalism, together with its strong association with arsenic and antimony, are highly encouraging and consistent with a classic orogenic gold system.”
The anomalies recorded a peak value of 720 parts per billion gold, showing a ‘strong’ association with key pathfinder elements arsenic and antimony along a northeast-trending axis.
“The identification of a continuous northeast-trending gold-arsenic-antimony anomaly linking multiple known prospects highlights the potential for a much larger, structurally controlled mineralised system than previously recognised,” Buswell-Smith says.
Golden Dragon’s broader program has also expanded the target area, highlighting geochemical anomalisms at surface consistent with observed trends in Behring Bore and Coordardy, where the company continues drilling.
It is also currently progressing heritage surveys and engaging contractors for targeted drill testing.
Recent drilling at Coodardy returned 12m @ 6.50 grams per tonne gold (Au) from 44m, including 4m @ 17.60g/t Au, adding to previous intercepts including 8m @ 10.82g/t Au from 25m, including 4m @ 21.37g/t Au.
