Godolphin Resources (ASX:GRL) has received a permit to begin drilling at the Lewis Ponds Project in New South Wales.
Godolphin will begin drilling across five holes for 2,500m, using a combination of reverse circulation and diamond drilling methods with a rig to be mobilised from mid-March.
Drilling is expected to be completed by May 2026.
Managing Director Jeneta Owens says the company has undertaken “extensive planning and preparation” for drilling at Lewis Ponds.
“Drilling will focus on testing a series of high priority geophysical targets that potentially represent significant accumulations of base metals and associated gold and silver,” Owens says.
“Specifically, this drill program will target the eastern induced polarisation chargeability target, thought to be mapping the southern strike continuation of the Lewis Ponds deposit mineralisation.
“It also seeks to target offhole electromagnetic conductors, positioned close to the existing mineral resource estimate.
“We have secured a drill contractor and expect to mobilise a rig to site in the coming weeks.”
Lewis Ponds holds a resource of 17.52 million tonnes @ 1.12 grams per tonne gold, 53.34g/t silver, 2.06% zinc, 1.10% lead, and 0.14% copper.
Godolphin Resources is an established gold, copper, and rare earths explorer with assets in Australia.
