Gibb River signs heritage agreement for Edjudina Gold Project

Gibb River Diamonds (ASX:GIB) has signed a deal with the Nyalpa Pirniku native title holders’ group for the granting of a mining lease at the Edjudina Gold Project in Western Australia.

Under the mining benefits and heritage agreement, covering the entire Edjudina Project, specific documents need to be lodged with the Western Australian Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) and National Native Title Tribunal.

Gibb River says this process is currently underway, however, given the holiday season, the grant is not expected to occur until early in 2025.

In parallel with the mining benefits agreement, Gibb River seeks to conduct a heritage survey early next year. Aboriginal heritage survey documents have been compiled and will be submitted to the Wangkatja Tjungula Aboriginal Corporation in January 2025.

Gibb River notes in order for mining to proceed at Edjudina, a mining proposal needs to be submitted to the DEMIRS. The company plans to lodge the proposal early next year.

Once granted, the mining proposal will permit for a mine and haul operation to be undertaken at the Neta Gold prospect, using toll treatment at a third-party mill.

Further, initial discussions have taken place with numerous Western Australian groups which specialise in mine, haul, and toll milling gold operations.

The Edjudina Project is located 145km northeast of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

Gibb River Diamonds is a multi-commodity mineral explorer based in Perth, Western Australia. The company is focused on the discovery and development of its project portfolio considered prospective for diamonds, gold, and phosphate.
