Future Metals (ASX:FME) has begun a detailed assessment at the Savannah Plant to strengthen development at the Panton Platinum Group Metals Project in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia.
Along with the company’s management team, Resources WA and VantageEng began the engineering assessment with a site visit between 16-19 February 2026, concluding the plant is structurally sound.
Future Metals says that while savings initially identified are still valid, the plant will require some refurbishment across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
Sufficient space is available within the plant footprint to allow additional equipment of material treatment.
Managing Director Keith Bowes says the site visit was “extremely valuable” for the assessment period.
“The plant is generally in good condition with the current care and maintenance program being undertaken by Panoramic ensuring that key equipment such as the SAG mill is being kept in good condition,” Bowes says.
“The team onsite are great and have been associated with the operation for many years so have significant operational experience that will be critical to ensuring any restart.
“I was also impressed with the associated infrastructure including the power plant and tailings storage facility which are all in good condition and can be restarted easily.”
Future Metals is an Australian-based mineral explorer focused on advancing its Panton Project in the eastern Kimberley region of Western Australia.
