Four Nines Gold (CSE:FNAU) has commenced its inaugural drilling program at the Hayden Hill Gold Project in California.
LSG Drilling is mobilising to site and beginning the first holes of the planned 5,000ft (1,524m) core program.
The drilling will test multiple structural corridors and deeper vein extensions identified through the company’s 3D geological modelling.
Historical drilling at Hayden Hill averaged only 150m in depth and did not target the vein systems now understood to control gold mineralisation at the project.
“Our team has spent months refining the geologic model, permitting drill stations, and preparing for this program. Now the drill is turning, and we are targeting zones that have never been tested,” CEO Charles Ross says.
The program is designed to test coalescing veins at approximately 200m depth, beneath historically mined zones.
Hayden Hill previously produced 480,000oz of gold and 1.3Moz of silver and has not been drilled in nearly three decades.
FNAU acquired the right to earn 100% of the project from a subsidiary of Kinross Gold. Amax Gold previously explored Hayden Hill through 99,862m of drilling in 742 holes before the mine closed in 1997.
Kinross acquired Amax Gold in 1998, and there has been no systematic exploration since closure.
The project is located on private land in Lassen County, with drill permits for the initial program received from county authorities. Four Nines has 10 approved drill locations and is fully funded for the maiden drill program.
Four Nines Gold is a US-focused gold explorer advancing the Hayden Hill project in California, with a fully funded maiden drill program targeting high-grade vein extensions beneath historical workings.
