Berkeley Energia (ASX:BKY) has appointed former Endesa (BME:ELE) chief executive José Bogas Gálvez as a non-executive director.
Gálvez brings over 40 years of experience in the Spanish and European Union nuclear and electricity sectors to the company.
Executive Director Robert Behets says Gálvez’ appointment strengthens Berkeley’s position and influence in Spain.
“We are delighted to welcome José to the board,” Behets says.
“[His appointment] will greatly assist Berkeley in its pursuit of unlocking the permitting situation for the Salamanca Project.”
The company continues to focus on resolving the permitting situation for its Salamanca Uranium Project in Spain and advancing the asset towards production.
