Euroz clarifies amid Bank of Montreal speculation

Perth, Western Australia-based financial services firm Euroz Hartleys (ASX:EZL) confirms it is in early stage discussions regarding undisclosed potential opportunities within the Australian market.

In a response to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) yesterday (19 August) in relation to external media speculation, Euroz Hartleys says talks remain confidential and incomplete, with terms or valuation yet to be discussed.

The ASX announcement follows an Australian media report that the Bank of Montreal has progressed talks with the diversified Australian firm regarding a strategic stake as part of its aim of building a beachhead in the country.

A tie-up with the Bank of Montreal would reportedly provide Euroz Hartleys with a bigger balance sheet and grow exposure to more institutional clients.

Since its merger with rival Hartleys in 2021, Euroz is now a major player in Perth’s equities and capital markets, raising more than $900 million in H2 2024 for predominantly mid-tier resources companies.

The firm is a provider of full service wealth management, investment advice, financial advisory, corporate finance, stockbroking, and funds management services to private, institutional, and corporate clients.
