Euro Manganese (TSX-V:EMN) has signed a non-binding offtake term sheet with US cathode producer 6K Energy following testing of ‘high-purity’ manganese from its Czech demonstration plant.
The agreement follows 6K Energy’s testing and preliminary qualification of ‘high-purity’ electrolytic manganese metal produced at Euro Manganese’s Demonstration Plant at the Chvaletice Manganese Project in Czechia.
The term sheet contemplates a long-term, take-or-pay offtake arrangement with market-linked pricing to support the project’s anticipated debt financing requirements while preserving upside exposure to manganese prices.
Initial volumes are expected to be supplied from the demonstration plant beginning 2028, supporting qualification ahead of commercial production.
CEO Martina Blahova says the term sheet is an important step towards converting customer interest into a “long-term commercial relationship”.
“6K Energy’s successful testing and preliminary qualification of our material provide valuable validation of its quality and suitability for advanced battery-material applications,” Blahova says.
“Chvaletice’s planned ability to produce high-purity manganese metal and high-purity manganese sulphate would provide customers flexibility across manufacturing processes and strengthen the project’s relevance to Western supply chains.”
6K Energy Senior Vice President of Global Operations Aaron Kless says establishing secure supply chains for critical battery materials is ‘central’ to the growth of domestic cathode manufacturing.
“The successful testing and preliminary qualification of Euro Manganese’s high-purity manganese material is an encouraging step in our evaluation process,” Kless says.
The parties intend to negotiate a definitive offtake agreement and explore broader commercial opportunities within 6K Energy’s operations.
Euro Manganese is a battery materials company focused on becoming Europe’s first domestic producer of ‘high-purity’ manganese for the electric vehicle industry.
