Eskay Mining (TSX-V:ESK) has begun a 5,000m diamond drilling program at its Corey-Eskay property in the Golden Triangle, British Columbia, Canada.
The company has mobilised its drilling team to Goldstorm Metals’ Electrum camp, with drilling beginning at the lower-elevation C-10 prospect due to higher-than-normal snow cover at the TM and Vermillion targets.
The first two holes, EM26-01 and EM26-02, are testing coincident chargeability and conductivity anomalies within the Betty Creek formation.
Eskay plans to drill EM26-03 at the Big Red porphyry copper target and EM26-04 at the Sultan gold vein target next, before shifting to TM and Vermillion once surface conditions permit.
At Big Red, recent and historical rock samples were assessed using the University of British Columbia Mineral Deposit Research Group’s porphyry proximity index, which is designed to indicate proximity to a potentially mineralised copper–gold porphyry deposit.
Eskay says many of the samples returned high index values.
The Sultan zone was identified during the company’s 2025 sampling program within a sequence of volcanic and marine sedimentary rocks.
Discrete shears across the area host pyrite-pyrrhotite-arsenopyrite mineralisation returning up to 11.20 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 56.60g/t silver.
Sampling of a nearby 5m by 3m massive sulphide replacement zone returned low-grade gold and silver with 0.26% copper.
Eskay says it has also commissioned a rapid-turnaround analytical laboratory in Stewart, which will analyse drill-core cuttings using portable X-ray fluorescence and PortablePPB’s detectORE technology.
The company says the facility will provide multielement results within 48 hours to help guide drilling during the program.
Structural geologist Dr Brett Davis will undertake an eight-day site visit from 22 July to provide structural analysis and advise Eskay’s mapping and core-logging teams.
CEO Mac Balkam says the holes will be the first drilled at Big Red and Sultan.
“By utilising reliable, rapid-turnaround analytical data from [the] new lab and applying Dr Davis’s structural insights, we are maximising the efficiency of our 2026 exploration window. I am also delighted to be announcing the first boreholes ever to be drilled on our Big Red and Sultan targets,” Balkam says.
Eskay holds 177 claims covering 52,600 hectares, 70km northwest of Stewart.
