Energy Transition Minerals (ASX:ETM) has reported the discovery of 10 new rare earth element targets across its Kvanefjeld exploration licence in Greenland, including an 1,800m mineralised trend with uranium below regulatory thresholds.
The company’s 2025 field program identified extensive surface mineralisation, with rock chip samples returning peak grades of 39,695 parts per million (ppm) total rare earth oxides (TREO) from 214 samples across 772 sites between June and November 2025.
“We are excited by the discovery of new zones of mineralisation that contain potentially economic REE grades, and, in particular, the extensive zone of mineralised rock which, containing levels of uranium that are below the Uranium Act threshold, should therefore not be the subject of the exploration restriction implied by this act,” Managing Director Daniel Mamadou says.
The most significant discovery comprises an 1,800m zone along the southwestern margin of the intrusive complex containing heavy rare earth oxides (REO) up to 1,174ppm with consistently low uranium concentrations below 100ppm.
The zone returned notable grades, including dysprosium oxide at 319ppm, terbium oxide at 51ppm, and yttrium oxide at 1,778ppm.
Multiple samples exceeded the Kvanefjeld deposit’s average resource grade, with 69 samples surpassing the 10,900ppm TREO benchmark. HREO grades reached exceptional levels, with 82 samples exceeding the deposit’s 400ppm average.
The company also identified mineralised trachyte rocks at higher elevations. These volcanic rocks have niobium values up to 5,280ppm and uranium below 100ppm and resemble the Dubbo rare earth deposit in New South Wales.
Exploration licence MEL 2010/02 expired on 31 December 2025, with Greenlandic authorities recommending against renewal under current laws.
Energy Transition Minerals plans to file an objection through its subsidiary Greenland Minerals on 15 June 2026.
