Emmerson Resources (ASX:ERM) is preparing to begin shallow reverse circulation drilling later this month at the White Devil deposit in the Northern Territory to boost the resource further.
The 5,000m drilling program, which will start on 19 May and take around three weeks to complete, aims to improve White Devil’s resource confidence. The deposit contains shallow inferred resources and Emmerson plans to test the potential for mineralisation below the historical Black Angel pit.
Emmerson notes results from the program will be received progressively from late June to mid-July, depending on assay lab turnaround time.
As Mining.com.au previously reported, resources found at the deposit so far total 4.6 million tonnes at 4.2 grams per tonne for 611,400 ounces of contained gold. The most recent update, released in mid-April, increased resources 25% over the maiden resource released in January 2025.
Emmerson believes White Devil has the potential to be classified as a major mine deposit, under a joint venture with Tennant Consolidated Mining Group (TCMG). TCMG is wholly owned subsidiary by Pan African Resources (LSE:PAF)
A Scoping Study is now underway and will confirm whether the deposit will be allocated under a separate major mine joint venture (MMJV).
A separate MMJV would mean Emmerson, which has a market capitalisation of $89 million, would retain a 40% contributing equity interest in any development.
Independent mining consultancy Entech is completing this study with assistance from both TCMG and Emmerson.
Meanwhile, the area surrounding the deposit is currently being inspected by an ultra-detailed drone based aerial magnetic survey to search for potential repeats of both structural position and ironstone mineralisation.
Emmerson has identified “blind” deposits in the Tennant Creek Mineral Field that otherwise went unnoticed using regional magnetic datasets.
A review of targets will be identified and prepared for reverse circulation drill testing following the completion of this survey.
Emmerson Resources is an exploration company located in Perth, focusing on gold projects in the Northern Territory and New South Wales.
The explorer is attending the RIU Sydney Resources Round-up being held from 6-8 May. Mining.com.au is an official media partner at this year’s event.
