EcoGraf (ASX:EGR) has signed a cooperation agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) to advance its vertically integrated HFfree business in the critical raw materials sector.
The agreement will provide technical assistance for EcoGraf’s planned Epanko Project expansion study and Midstream Mechanical Shaping Facility in Tanzania, along with integration into the European Union battery anode value chain.
Technical assistance activities will be funded under the EU-OACPS Technical Assistance Facility on Critical Raw Materials, supporting initiatives aligned with the European Union’s Critical Raw Materials Act.
The agreement follows the EIB’s site visit in June 2025 and meetings in Brussels where the company presented its graphite developments at the EU Priority Projects Showcase.
Managing Director Andrew Spinks says the partnership with EIB will help develop reliable and sustainable supply chains for critical raw materials.
EIB Director for Corporates and Global Activities Andrea Clerici adds that the cooperation reflects its “commitment to fostering win-win partnerships with European and African partners, supporting resilient supply chains”.
The company was encouraged to apply for Strategic Project status under the Critical Raw Materials Act for both its upstream and downstream developments, which would reinforce EcoGraf’s vision of contributing to cleaner environment through its battery anode materials business.
EcoGraf is building a vertically integrated battery anode materials business to produce high-purity graphite products for lithium-ion battery and advanced manufacturing markets. The company has invested over US$30 million to date in creating its graphite business.
