Explorer DY6 Metals (ASX:DY6) has begun diamond drilling at its Machinga Heavy Rare Earths (HREE) and Niobium Project in Malawi.
The company says a diamond drill rig has mobilised to the site at Machina and begun drilling the first of 6 diamond drillholes.
Diamond drilling is intended to provide DY6 with a better understanding of the geological controls of the mineralisation at the Machinga Project, alongside material for initial metallurgical testwork.
Meanwhile, DY6 notes reverse circulation (RC) drilling is continuing in the area, with 11 holes for 1,400m drilled so far as part of the 5,000m RC and diamond drilling program.
The first assay results from the ongoing drilling program are expected in late Q3 2023.

DY6 Metals is an emerging supplier of heavy rare earths and niobium. The company owns 3 ‘highly prospective’ HREE and critical metals projects in Southern Malawi, including the Machinga, Salambidwe, Ngala Hill projects.
