Hammer Metals (ASX:HMX) has launched a new reverse circulation drilling program at its Kalman Project near Mount Isa in North West Queensland, targeting copper, gold, and other critical metals.
Hammer will target open-pit resources at the site to support an updated mineral resource estimate and a Scoping Study.
The remaining inferred open-pit resource of less than 35% will be upgraded to “indicated status”.
Shallow mineralisation will be tested at the southern end of the proposed open pit to expand near-surface resources.
High-grade shoot potential will be tested at the Lady Jenny deposit. Higher grade potential will also be tested at Blackrock within the broader iron oxide, copper, and gold prospect.
Drilling is expected to end in May 2026, with results expected to be released later in the month.
The Kalman resource update will inform a new Scoping Study that will start simultaneously to incorporate Overlander, Lakeview, and other nearby Hammer-owned copper-gold resources.
“[This] program [is] designed to increase confidence in the current resource, while also targeting extensions to known mineralisation,” Managing Director Daniel Thomas says.
“With recent strength in copper, molybdenum, and rhenium prices, we look forward to demonstrating the scale and potential of the Kalman deposit and its broader regional significance as a future development opportunity.”
Hammer Metals is an active mineral explorer focused on discovering copper-gold deposits of Ernest Henry style in the Sunshine State.
