Dreadnought confirms near-surface gold at Metzke’s Find

Dreadnought Resources (ASX:DRE) has announced results from the 43-hole reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at Metzke’s Find, part of the wholly owned Illaara Gold Project in the Yilgarn region of Western Australia.

The drilling program was focused on adding near-term production ounces as part of the company’s ‘Finding More Gold, Faster’ strategy.

Infill drilling has returned shallow intercepts, which the company notes will have positive impacts on the current resource. Key intercepts include 6m @ 8.9 grams per tonne gold from 117m, including 1m @ 51.6g/t gold from 118m; 2m @ 17g/t gold from 136m, including 1m @ 30.4g/t gold from 136m; and 1m @ 11.6g/t gold from 7m, and 2m @ 4.2g/t gold from 85m.

Extensional drilling has successfully extended the main Metzke’s lode approximately 250m to the north, demonstrating the potential to further grow the resource. Significant intercepts include 10m @ 1.5g/t gold from 20m, including 2m @ 5.8g/t gold from 22m.

The extensional drilling intercept has allowed the company to potentially extend the strike by approximately 250m to 600m and remains open.

Managing Director Dean Tuck notes that advancing Metzke’s is a core component of the company strategy, noting that the resource is “a great commercial opportunity”.

“Drilling has successfully extended mineralisation at Metzke’s Find from ~350m strike to ~600m strike, providing a significant opportunity to expand upon the current resource. Additionally, the identification of a parallel structure provides further resource expansion opportunities which will be drilled in late February / early March,” Tuck says.

“Confirming high-grade gold from 7m, which is outside and above the current resource is exciting and highlights the opportunity to add shallow ounces to the current resource through a systematic program like the one that proved successful at Star of Mangaroon.”

Dreadnought will be releasing further results from drilling at Stinger and Mangaroon Gold in February, and will commence aircore drilling at Illaara that month.

Dreadnought is an exploration company with a portfolio of gold, critical, and base metals resources in west Australia.
